Registration, Achievement and Certification
Administration of learner/student cohorts
Quartz provides highly flexible functionality to allow the definition of
cohorts of learners/students for providers/centres such as colleges,
employers, training organisations, etc. Quartz provides optimised screen
entry of learners/students, and support for e-registration either uploaded
through Quartz Web (the Quartz Portal), via e-mail or by web-service APIs.
Entry of learners/students is through screens, or via a wide
range of electronic formats for integration with providers’/centres’
systems (e.g. college MISs). The system has been designed to save
time at the awarding body and at the centres.
Quartz uses a sophisticated fuzzy-matching to identify
corresponding learners, and minimise duplicate registrations. It
also provides a learner-merge facility and can support legacy
learner number schemes as well as the ULN.
Recording and tracking of achievement
Recording and tracking of achievement includes the following
facilities:
- The user interface is optimised for fast and easy entry of
achievement, together with extensive data quality validation
- Units can be awarded either fully, or using a mark or percentage
- Providers have web-based access to real-time on-line record of
achievement
- Complete recording of partial achievement and individual test
results is provided
- E-award facilities provide electronic transfer and loading of
achievement – saving time for providers/centres and the awarding
body
Certification
Quartz has a unit based model at the core of its design. It supports
Certification facilities include:
- Unit and Full Award (Qualification) certificates content
and layout is defined locally and tailored, including multiple
formats (and languages) for a course
- Flexible production of certificates, e.g. for an individual, for
all learners on a ‘course’, or for all learners achieving at a
particular provider
- Certificate content can be reviewed on screen before printing, or
at any time in the future for reference
- A full audit trail of certificate versions is automatically
maintained.
