The Quartz IT Solution
Comprehensive Support
The Quartz awarding body system has been developed by Portico Consulting to
support the entire lifecycle of learning, qualification development and the
recognition of achievement.
Quartz supports the management of qualifications and other programmes of
vocational learning. It provides a comprehensive range of functionality
for awarding bodies to manage the development and administration of learning
definition and achievement. Quartz supports the development of programmes of
learning and qualifications, learner/student registration, achievement tracking,
class/learner-cohort administration, quality assurance arrangements and
certification.
Extensive Experience
Quartz builds on Portico’s extensive experience of developing and supporting
operational and management systems for credit-based learning. Our systems have managed the achievement records and certification of
millions of registered learners.
Scalable Approach
Quartz has been developed as a scalable solution to provide a practical
and fully functional system at an affordable level for both large and small
organisations - from 5 users to 500+; printing batches of 2 or 3
certificates to batches of a thousand or more.
Two Interfaces for two User-Groups: Internal and External
A modern awarding body needs a comprehensive system packed with
functionality to provide high-speed and highly effective management of their
operations and customer relationships for their internal staff.
This demands a full windows application delivering a smart client interface
for regular or power users.
But in addition, awarding bodies need to be able to reach out through the
internet, to their external stakeholders:
centres/providers, EVs/moderators, and students/learners.
Quartz
addresses this by providing two separate applications: Quartz
as a smart-client (full application) for use by awarding body staff; and QuartzWeb,
the Quartz Portal (or Extranet) providing specific functions through the
browser, for use by your external stakeholders.
